Civics | Sixth Grade | Seventh Grade

The 7th grade Civics curriculum emphasizes government at the national, state, and local levels. The students will role-play our developing government system. They will understand and apply the concepts of citizenship, responsibility, respect, and patriotism. They will begin to understand our government through our documents, symbols, history and philosophy.

The focus will be on the development of the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution. Students will follow these "mission statements" through to the development of local governments.

This year we will ask a member of local government to come and speak.
