Sixth Grade | Seventh Grade

Life Science give students the opportunity for hands on, minds on learning, experimentation and reporting about the living systems found on Earth. While learning about cells, students will use their laptops and interfaced microscopes to learn the parts of a cell and the function of acell's organelles By examining the traits passed from one generation to another and principles of heredity, student will learn about Mendelian genetics and the Human genome. While reviewing some of the details of the Earth's history, students will study evolution and gain an understanding to current strategies of classifying living things. Learning about one's own body is important in terms of the various systems and how to maintain good overall physical health. At the end of the year, we'll conclude our look at the human body and the physics behind many of the systems that allow us to perceive and move in our environment.
