Theater

Sixth Grade

In this course students will learn to process, analyze, and respond to sensory information using theater skills. They will discover their unique creativity and apply it to a performance. They will learn how aesthetics, history, and culture shape performance. They will develop an appreciation for artistic performance and learn how these skills will benefit them in their lives and careers.

Students will be introduced to the following:

  • Projection
  • Memorization techniques
  • Storytelling
  • Creating a character
  • Deciphering text
  • Presenting to an audience
  • Improvisation
  • Emotional expression
  • Understanding technical elements of theater
  • How to rehearse and present a play or any presentation
